How our lift-share SIMs work

With Blend’s lift-share offer, each SIM has 20 minutes and 5GB of data to use per month, but the minutes and data can be shared across all lifts at no extra cost.

If one lift has more emergency calls than other lifts, the minutes and data are automatically redirected, meaning the more lifts you have, the bigger the pool of minutes and data you have to use.

All networks

Blend Telecom offers unsteered roaming SIMs for autodialers, enabling automatic network selection among EE, Vodafone, O2, and Three for the best signal strength. This minimizes downtime, reduces engineer callouts, and ensures continuous connectivity by seamlessly switching networks during outages.

Don’t lose connection!

Multi-network SIMs are available from as little as £54/year (plus VAT) on flexible one-, two-, three- and five year contracts. Each SIM comes with 20 minutes and 5MB of monthly data, which can be shared across all your purchased SIMs, ensuring you never run out of minutes.

FAQs

  • The UK is upgrading its telecoms network by replacing copper lines with fibre lines for better broadband speeds. However, this transition negatively impacts lift autodialers connected to landlines.

  • Fibre lines do not carry power, and they cannot transmit the DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) tones required for analogue lift autodialers. This means that during a power outage or when DTMF tones are needed, the emergency phone will be non-functional.

  • Yes - Our special agreements with the networks mean all 4 UK networks are included. EE, Vodafone, O2 and Three.

Sims are unsteered meaning they will pick the best network for your lift and not favour the cheapest one.

  • Yes - we encourage you to purchase blank unregistered SIMs from as little as £1 to keep onsite ready for activation. You then simply contact us on the day the SIM is required for activation saving time and cost.

  • 2 months before the end of the contract, your Blend Telecom account manager will be in touch to see if you wish to renew the SIM for another term. The SIM will then remain live without the need of an engineer visit.

  • The transition to fibre lines means that most emergency phones in lifts, which are analogue and rely on DTMF tones, will no longer work properly. Fibre lines cannot transmit these specific frequency tones.

  • Yes, one alternative is to invest in lift autodialers that are compatible with cellular-based emergency phone systems. This option combined with a Blend multi network sim option can help maintain connectivity even during power outages when connected to a backup power supply.

  • Absolutely! Our customers have a mix of 1 year, 2 year and 3 year sims depending on the end customer requirement. SIMs still share their minutes and data no matter the contract length.

  • All your SIMS share / pool their minutes and data together meaning if one uses 25 minutes it can borrow 5 minutes from a SIM that has used 15 minutes or less. If your pool goes over its allocation, our portal will notify you during the month to eliminate any overspend. Your account team will contact you to see if you’d like a top up until the end of the month instead of cutting off the SIMs.

  • Building regulations and guidelines may vary by region and municipality. It's advisable to check with local authorities or relevant regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with safety and communication standards in lifts during this telecoms network transition.
